Afternoon Film Series: “Wicked”

Our afternoon film series continues with a showing of the 2024 blockbuster Wicked.

Wicked is the first installment of a two-part film adaptation of the stage musical by Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman, which is loosely based on the 1995 novel, in turn based on the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz. The film tells the story of a young woman named Elphaba, who is misunderstood because of her green skin and forges an unlikely but profound friendship with Glinda, a student with an unflinching desire for popularity. Following an encounter with the Wizard of Oz, their relationship soon reaches a crossroad as their lives begin to take very different paths.
