In this “Lunchtime Learning” presentation, a Park Ranger from Stonewall National Monument will discuss the Stonewall Uprising, Stonewall Inn, and the beginning of the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement. Be sure to join us for this special Pride Month observance.
The Stonewall National Monument is one of New York City’s ten National Park sites. The monument commemorates an important site and event in LGBTQ+ history. It encompasses Christopher Park, located across the street from Stonewall Inn, a bar in the heart of Greenwich Village. This historic streetscape was witness to the Stonewall Uprising.
