Our Annual Meeting’s guest speaker this year is Westchester resident David Michaelis. He is the author of the New York Times bestseller Eleanor, a biography of Eleanor Roosevelt published in October of 2020. His extensive research produced a riveting account of Eleanor Roosevelt’s inspiring journey from orphaned niece of President Theodore Roosevelt to settlement house volunteer on the Lower East Side to a partner in New York’s most important power couple. As the nation’s longest serving First Lady, she was known as a voice for the voiceless and a proponent of international human rights.
David Michaelis grew up in Cambridge, Mass., and Washington, D. C., was educated at Concord Academy and Princeton University. In addition to Eleanor, he is also the author of several nonfiction books, as well as the critically acclaimed bestsellers N. C. Wyeth and Schulz and Peanuts.
His presentation will be preceded by a short business meeting.
