The Usual Suspects Book Club: “At Midnight Comes the Cry”

You are invited to join our The Usual Suspects Book Club, a monthly mystery book club where crime fiction lovers will gather to unravel twisted plots, dissect clever clues, and debate unforgettable suspects. Whether you’re a seasoned sleuth or new to the genre, come connect with fellow lovers of mystery! Led by our Adult Reference Librarian Colleen Oakes, this will be the group’s last meeting. For this meeting, we’ll be discussing At Midnight Comes the Cry, by Julia Spencer-Fleming. As part of Spencer-Fleming’s Clare Fergusson/Russ Van Alstyne mystery series, this mystery novel follows Reverend Clare Fergusson and her newly-resigned police chief husband Russ van Alstyne with a cast of characters who must unravel a murderous plot linked to a parallel world of militias, machinations and murder.
