For Teens in Middle & High School
No school due to Election Day – so join other teens for a hike and to learn survival skills and primitive tool making with Eric Stone of the Rewilding School!
The Teen Survival Skills program is interactive, hands-on and designed to teach young adults essential survival techniques such as starting a fire and tool making. Teens will gain the confidence and knowledge to handle outdoor challenges safely and effectively. Participants will hike from Michigan Road through the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation trails to learn about safety and fundamental hiking skills before stopping to work on fire making skills on site. We’ll hike from 10:30 to 12/12:30 and then end with pizza lunch.
Appropriate layers, sturdy shoes, water, and a snack as needed, are recommended for this program. We will continue the program in light rain. In the case of heavy rain or other inclement weather, we will move the program indoors to the Lewisboro Library conference room and adjust the program accordingly.
This hike is co-sponsored by the Lewisboro Land Trust. All hikers must download and fill out this waiver – Lewisboro Land Trust Release-Hold Harmless Agreement – to bring with you that day. Copies will also be available at the start of the hike.
Space is limited. Please register below so we have your email in case we need to change location.
