Lewisboro Library Book Group: “The Confidante”
July 30 @ 7:30 pm

The Lewisboro Library Book Group meets at the Library on the last Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m.
This month the group will be discussing the The Confidante: The Untold Story of the Woman Who Helped Win WWII and Shape Modern America. Written by Christopher C. Gorham, it is the first biography of Anna Marie Rosenberg, the Hungarian Jewish immigrant who became FDR’s closest advisor during World War II. As special envoy to Europe in World War II she went where the president couldn’t go, she was among the first Allied women to enter a liberated concentration camp. She guided the direction of the G.I. Bill of Rights and the Manhattan Project.
Books are available through the Westchester Library System and copies are often ordered in advance for members to pick up at the Library. New members are always welcome in this adult, co-ed book group. For more information contact Myrna or Steve Shomstein at (914) 533-2550.
