Historical Miniatures Next Gen: “The Battle of Asculum”

Calling all history buffs! The Historical Miniatures Gaming Society is back at the Library to re-create another famous battle from history using hand painted miniature figures (or toy soldiers), and this time they’ll cover “The Battle of Asculum”!

“The Battle of Asculum” was fought in 279 BC between the Roman Army and the Greek army of King Pyrrhus of Epirus. The second of three major battles during the Pyrrhic war, King Pyrrhus won another very costly “Pyrrhic Victory”, declaring “One more such victory, and I am lost”.

The games are challenging, and promote teamwork, strategic thinking, social interaction, and most importantly, are just plain fun – all while learning history!
