Golden Hour Sonnets with David Sanders
November 8 @ 2:00 pm

A demanding but flexible poetic form, the sonnet was first used for love poems in Renaissance Italy, but was soon taken up by poets in other languages for a broader range of concerns. We will look at sonnets by poets from William Shakespeare to Robert Frost that exemplify this expansive subject matter as well as the adaptability of
the sonnet form itself. Led by David Sanders, Professor Emeritus of English and a resident of South Salem.
This session will be geared towards discussion, with everyone encouraged to participate.
