Portugal is a southwestern European country located on the Iberian Peninsula, bordered by Spain and the Atlantic Ocean. Known for its rich maritime history, it was a major player in the Age of Discovery during the 15th and 16th centuries, establishing a vast empire that included territories in Africa, Asia, and South America.

Town Supervisor Tony Gonçalves, whose parents were born in Portugal, will discuss the country’s history, geography, climate, cuisine and culture, and share breathtaking photos from a recent trip.
