How did our patrons use the Lewisboro Library in 2025? As we countdown to the end of the year, we wanted to take a look at how the Library has served you – our patrons – over 2025. From books old and new to exciting events and experiences, we have it all at the Lewisboro Library – with more to come in the new year! So before we say hello to 2026, let’s take a glance at Your 2025 Lewisboro Library Wrapped.
POPULAR TITLES
What were Lewisboro patrons reading in 2025? Our librarians weighed in, and you have some good taste! Here are the most popular titles checked out by our patrons.
BOOKS FOR ADULTS

2025 saw new releases by beloved authors across genres of fiction, and our patrons wouldn’t let these titles rest on the shelves too long! Popular new releases among adult books included fantasy picks such as Rebecca Yarros’s Onyx Storm and romances like The Wedding People by Alison Espach.
Novels featuring deep, interior characterization such as My Friends by Fredrik Backman and Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid were also popular, as well as thrillers like Don’t Let Him In by Lisa Jewell and We Are All Guilty Here by Karin Slaughter.
BOOKS FOR CHILDREN

Books were flying off the shelves in the Children’s Room this year! Our early readers were big fans of the Pete the Cat books, as well as the Paw Patrol series. Our series of books featuring Disney characters were also popular, especially Frozen.
Books in series were beloved by our younger patrons: favoured series included Dragon Masters by Tracey West, The Magic Treehouse by Mary Pope Osborne (for which we have a dedicated book club!), Wings of Fire by Tui T. Sutherland, and Spy School by Stuart Gibbs. Fiction was the most popular genre among younger readers, especially fantasy and superhero titles.
BOOKS FOR TEENS

Teens enjoyed a mix of titles this year, ranging from books hot off the press to old classics. The release of the highly anticipated Hunger Games prequel Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins was a top favorite, as well as Tiffany Jackson’s latest release The Scammer. Jackson’s 2017 book Allegedly also got picked off the shelf often, as was George Orwell’s 1984.
Thriller and romance books were popular among our teen and young adult readers, seen by the popularity of The Grandest Game novels by Jennifer Lynn Barnes and Sarah J. Maas’s Throne of Glass series, respectively. Manga graphic novels were also popular: top titles included the Blue Lock series by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and the Spy x Family series by Tatsuya Endo.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
We pride ourselves in being the heart of the community, and are happy to provide programming and services that connect our patrons and give them access to new experiences. How did we fare in 2025?
This past year, the Library had just under 3200 adults participate in our onsite and offsite programs. Our 290 adult offerings included popular ongoing programs like Book Groups, Mahjong, Stitch Together and Writers Group, as well as educational seminars and entertaining events.

In the Children’s Room, we saw participation of 1545 children with their caregivers over 228 programs, as well as 10 nursery school visits. Our most popular programs included our 2025 Summer Reading Kickoff, the Pirate Scavenger Hunt, a Back to School Party, Bubble Art, Rabbits and Friends, and our ongoing Family Storytime.

Exciting things were going on at our Teen Corner in 2025, with 177 participants over 25 programs, as well as 6 members joining our new Teen Advisory Board. The biggest programs among our teens were the International Taste Test, The Art of Henna, Pumpkin Spice Taste Test, Button Making and Tiny Book Ornaments.

More than just books and programming, we offer Hotspots and free or discounted Museum Passes to our patrons – and we’re happy to report that they are being put to use! We had a total of 119 hotspot checkouts this year, and a whopping total of 301 museum pass borrows. Our most popular museum passes were the American Museum of Natural History, the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, and the Stepping Stones Museum for Children, though our collection includes 19 more passes just waiting to be checked out in the new year.

SPECIAL EVENTS
Of course, we couldn’t wrap up the year without talking about the many special and exciting events that drew community members to our doors.
We saw our biggest crowds at January’s Jay Prince and Friends concert, March’s performance of “Beyond Therapy” by Katonah Classic Stage , and June’s Hard Headed Comedy Showcase (all of which you will be seeing again in 2026!).

Popular lectures included the South Salem Ghost Walk, an Author Talk with Fiona Davis, and Citizen Preparedness Trainings.

And the hands-down winner for an event that sells out the quickest? Our offsite Trivia Nights at the Horse and Hound & Taconah Cantina!

Many thanks to our community for your support in 2025. We can’t wait for you to see what we have in store for 2026!
