How do we engage readers while they’re out of school?
WLS has two great options.
For younger readers, TumbleBooks offers Read Along and video versions of picture and illustrated books. K-8 readers can search by subject, genre, reading level, and “TumbleTime” – the amount of time it takes to read a TumbleBook! Plus, there are puzzles and games, and with a simple drop-down menu choice, the website or app will display French or Spanish Read Alongs.
Older readers can head to Comics Plus. It has a wide range of popular and award-winning titles, and they will be nearly doubling the number of manga titles in their collection by the end of summer! They have partnered with a subsidiary of Japan’s largest publishing company, Kodansha USA Publishing. More than 200 titles are available now, including popular series for kids like Chi’s Sweet Home, and series for teens like Battle Angel Alita.
Comics Plus has also made it easier for manga fans to find their favorites by adding manga-specific categories like Kodomomuke, Shonen, Shoujo, Seinen, Josei, and Yaoi / Yuri.
More manga gives Westchester’s readers of all ages – an even wider range of materials when they sign in to Comics Plus: Library Edition.
