SUMMARY:HISTORIC HAMLET HUNT! (Self-Guided Driving Tour)
DESCRIPTION:Thank you for an overwhelming response to this event!  Our registration is now full. If you had registered and not yet paid\, please call 875-9004 for payment instructions.\n  \nPlease join us on a hunt for historic treasures of Lewisboro! Eighteen treasures of Lewisboro history will be highlighted in a self-guided driving tour around the six hamlets of our town. \n\n  \nRegistered participants will arrive at the Library between noon and 2:00pm to pick up a treasure booklet and start the tour. Follow the directions to learn the history of these treasures while enjoying the scenic beauty of our town. \n  \nAn iSpy feature for kids is part of the fun. Along with the booklet\, children receive a small treasure chest to collect gold coins\, and booklet stickers in every Hamlet. \n  \nThe tour will take about two hours. Socially-distant refreshments and a chance to ask questions of Town Historian Maureen Koehl will take place at the end of the tour\, back on the Library lawn at 4:00pm. Plus music by renowned guitarist Bob Curiano. \n  \nAll participants will be entered into a raffle for a treasure chest of real coins; there will also be a live drawing for the winners of our Library raffle mailed out in late August. \n  \nThe Historic Hamlet Hunt is a fundraiser for the Lewisboro Library with a price of $25.00 per car.\n \n  \nImportant Note: Masks must be worn at check-in\, if you exit your car at a site\, and if you choose to meet back on the Library lawn at the end. \n  \nP.S. Grades 6 and Up \nOur culmination of the Teen Summer Reading Challenge\,  Here’s your chance to redeem all those points you accumulated by logging books and tasks and exchange them for raffle tickets. You will then use those raffle tickets for a chance to win a prize! \nAll reading must be logged by Friday\, August 14 – no exceptions!  \nDolores will then tally everyone’s raffle tickets and send a raffle count and link to prize selection form to fill out and submit before the Prize Party.  The address of the form is https://forms.gle/26ogmCE535NA9LoP7  The form is due no later than Friday\, August 21.  Under each prize photo\, please enter the number of your tickets you would like allocated for that particular prize. If you are not interested in a prize\, please enter “0” under the picture.  Your total must match the the raffle ticket count sent to you. Remember to click on SUBMIT at the end when you have completed the form. \nOn Monday\, August 24\, your raffle tickets will be placed in your requested prize(s) container for a live drawing the night of the prize party. If your name is drawn more than once\, you have the option of selecting which of the drawn prizes you want. Teen Vihan J. has been leading a series of beginning origami classes as a community service to engage teens and adults in a fun and interactive activity. Some participants are more advanced\, so we have added Advanced Origami Workshops on Friday afternoons for those who are interested in working with Vihan on more intricate models. Participants in the class can use their own paper\, or arrange to pick up origami paper from the Library. Classes are small\, registration is required.
