The boxes are inspired by the work of artist Joseph Cornell\, famous for his boxed assemblages created from found objects. \nEach child will work with found objects\, paint\, glue and nature materials to create an environment in their individual box. DESCRIPTION:The Lewisboro Library Book Group meets at the Library on the last Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. \nThis month the group will be discussing the The Confidante: The Untold Story of the Woman Who Helped Win WWII and Shape Modern America. Written by Christopher C. Gorham\, it is the first biography of Anna Marie Rosenberg\, the Hungarian Jewish immigrant who became FDR’s closest advisor during World War II. As special envoy to Europe in World War II she went where the president couldn’t go\, she was among the first Allied women to enter a liberated concentration camp. She guided the direction of the G.I. Bill of Rights and the Manhattan Project.  \nBooks are available through the Westchester Library System and copies are often ordered in advance for members to pick up at the Library. SUMMARY:Mahjong for Beginners
DESCRIPTION:Have you always wanted to learn Mahjong? This 4-week session\, led by Donna Pirro\, will meet on Tuesday evenings from July 29 – August 19. It will give you the basic skills to start playing. \nThe Library owns Mahjong tiles\, which will be used for the class.  You will need your own Mahjong card to play.\n\n\n\nPlease order a 2025 Mahjong card as soon as possible\, so it arrives before the first class.  It can be ordered at https://www.nationalmahjonggleague.org/store.aspx#\n  \nThis is NOT a drop-in program\, registration is required. There are a limited number of spaces since we already had names on our waitlist from the last session. \nPlease register on the webpage for the first class on July 29. If registration is full\, you can email the Library to be placed on the waitlist for the next session – info@lewisborolibrary.org.

DESCRIPTION:For Grades 1 – 5. \nJoin us each month as we meet to discuss one of the books in the Magic Tree House series and then do some fun activities based on the book. Our first meeting was a blast\, discussing the first book\, Dinosaurs Before Dark\, and then making our own cardboard dinosaurs! In July we discussed The Knight at Dawn and made swords. \nThis month we are on to book #3 – Mummies in the Morning. Come talk about the book\, and create your own mummy! \nReading the book is not required to attend the program\, but it is highly encouraged.
