SUMMARY:Eclipse Video & Viewing Party
DESCRIPTION:Come to the Library for an Eclipse-Viewing gathering – our viewing event in 2017 was a big hit! \nFor those who are interested\, we’ll start the countdown at 2 pm by showing a recording of Joe Rao’s recent “Adventures of an Eclipse Chaser” presentation. Then we’ll gather on the lawn to view the partial eclipse\, which will occur between approximately 2:00 and 4:30 pm\, with peak coverage (about 90% of the sun) occurring at 3:26 pm. The video showing will be limited to the first 30 people who show up.  All others are invited to join us for the eclipse viewing on the lawn. \nPlease register family members below.  The Library will distribute special eclipse-viewing glasses to those who register. \nUnfortunately we have run out of the additional glasses we were distributing to those who can not attend this event. We still have glasses reserved for those who have registered\, but will not have glasses available for walk-ins.

SUMMARY:College Planning in the Mid 2020's - What you need to know now
DESCRIPTION:For Teens in Grades 9 – 11 & their Parents.\n\nThe college process has been undergoing massive changes since the pandemic. Colleges are test-optional\, test-blind\, test-mandatory. Students are being asked to defer a semester or study at another campus. Increased applications have led to more unpredictability and volatility\, especially as students refuse to think outside the box.\n\n     In this presentation\, Alan Sheptin\, CEP\, will discuss what to expect in the next few years\, and provide some ways to think cleverly about applying to college. Before our presentation\, you may want to read his comments in a recent article from Westchester magazine.\n\n     Please register your family members below.
