DESCRIPTION:Looking for a unique Friday evening out\, or a hilarious date night? Come enjoy a NYC comedy club experience right here in Lewisboro! \nIt’s the return of the “Hard Headed Comedy Showcase!” This event features four stand-up comics – who regularly perform on TV\, at festivals and comedy clubs – now performing on the stage of the Library. \nAppearing that night are: \nMaggie Champagne – Maggie is an actress\, comedian\, VO artist\, writer and producer. She has performed at Standup NY\, NYCC\, The Stand\, Caroline’s and The Comedy Store. She is featured in the Spotify Original The Sketch Factor with Fred Armisen. She recently worked in the films Better Places to Go\, Kinda Pregnant\, Genie\, among others. You can see her on the shows Inside Amy Schumer\, Law and Order SVU\, FBI and Life and Beth. She is co-founder of Meggie Films and is currently in pre-production of her standup album recording titled Old Mom. \nAlex Kollar – Your host for the night\, Alex is a native Queens comic now residing in the suburbs of Westchester. Alex talks about family life\, kids and marriage\, a clean comic who’s not afraid to toe the line on any subject. A regular at Laugh It Up Comedy Club\, Alex has opened for Harland Williams\, Matt Friend\, and Colin Quinn. \nAlex Koltchak – Alex is a filmmaker and stand-up comedian\, and most recently the writer and performer of Bent Through Glass (Off-Broadway). He performs stand up all over NYC\, and is the producer of Holy Hand Grenade Comedy. As a filmmaker he has directed the short films Methods and I: Ayn Rand. \nLuz Michelle – Luz is a comedian\, producer\, host\, and the founder of Hard Headed Comedy\, through which she has produced and hosted over 250 shows. A Ladies of Laughter winner\, Luz has performed at top venues including Caroline’s\, Gotham Comedy Club\, The Stand\, Stand Up NY\, City Winery\, and New York Comedy Club. Her work has been featured in Medium\, BroadwayWorld\, Time Out NY\, and on Spotify. She’s also the sharp\, trusted voice behind “Dear Luz\,” a monthly advice column for Connect To Magazine. DESCRIPTION:This monthly\, one hour gathering is for those who are caring for and supporting a loved one alongside an illness or aging\, or perhaps have recently lost someone. This is a time just for you\, to be in community and connection with others who understand. \nThe gathering is led by Grief Coach and Educator\, Barri Leiner Grant\, Founder of The Memory Circle (www.thememorycircle.com) for grief and loss. Barri supports grievers in her work and spent ten years as a caregiver for her father Neil who lived with Alzheimer’s. \nBarri encourages attendees to express their feelings and take notice of the beauty in the world through guided writing prompts. As one attendee wrote: “I was intimidated about getting my thoughts and feelings on paper\, especially around caregiving. Barri put me at ease with her warmth and honesty. Through guiding prompts and poems I wrote simply and clearly about my feelings. I left with new ideas for connecting with myself and bringing clarity to the challenges I face as a caregiver. Get ready for challenging questions\, drinks at Happy Hour prices\, delicious food and prizes – all under the lights of the patio! \nQuestions will cover a range of topics including general knowledge\, pop culture\, history\, music\, and more. A great way to gather with your neighbors\, win prizes\, and compete for the title of Lewisboro Library Trivia Champions! \nReserved seats are $25 per player. The best way to reserve seating is to form your team (ideally 2 – 4 players)\, and then have a team captain purchase seats for the group. Knowing the number on each team will help us in setting up the venue before everyone arrives. Of course\, individual players are also welcome\, and we’ll do our best to pair you with another team.
