DESCRIPTION:For Adults and Families with School-age Children \nWe are capping off our Summer Reading Theme of “All Together Now” with a night of community service! \nOperation Gratitude provides opportunities for people to express their gratitude and show our Military and first responders that what they do matters. They send out up to 200\,000 Care Packages per year. \nTonight we will be writing/decorating letters and making Paracord Lanyards to send to Operation Gratitude to include in their Care Packages. Children can draw pictures and make cards\, and teens and adults can make the lanyards. Each lanyard provides 5 feet of cord that can be used for a variety of emergency situations. \nPlease register below.

SUMMARY:Community Safety Series: Stop the Bleed
DESCRIPTION:For Adults and Teens ages 15 and older.\n\n\nAccidents happen in an instant\, and getting help for the wounded in a timely manner is critical. STOP THE BLEED is the result of a collaborative effort led by the American College of Surgeons Committee to bring knowledge of bleeding control to the public\, essentially to train bystanders to take life-saving action if needed until professional help arrives. The skills you learn in this 90 minute class can help save a life!\n\n\nThe Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps (LVAC) is sponsoring and leading this class\, which will instruct community members in the proper methods to control active bleeding in an emergency situation using tourniquets\, applying direct pressure and wound packing.\n\n\nThis class is part of a Community Safety Series coordinated by the Lewisboro Library\, LVAC\, and the Town’s Emergency Management Committee. SUMMARY:Earring Design Workshop
DESCRIPTION:For Adults\,Teens & Children Ages 8 & Up\n \nThe theme of our Summer Reading program is “All Together Now\,” so we are inviting volunteers of all ages to do a good deed this summer – make earrings to donate to women’s shelters. For every pair that you make and keep\, you must donate a pair to charity.\n \n This workshop is led by Joan Lloyd\, who donates over 900 pairs of earrings each month and has been offering workshops at the Library for over 10 years. \nSpace is limited\, please register below. If the program fills up\, please email the Library to be put on the wait list – we often have cancellations the day before.
