DESCRIPTION:Grades K – 5 \nOur friends at Rock n’ Rescue are coming by with their feline friends to let children in grades K – 5 practice their reading aloud skills by reading to the kittens – and cuddling them too! \nThis program helps children develop their reading skills and their sense of compassion. They will learn about animal-savvy behavior and volunteerism. It also provides enrichment for the cats and helps them learn to trust children and adults through calm\, positive interactions. \nThere are six 15-minute time slots available\, beginning at 11:30\, with the last session ending at 1 pm. Rick is the author of multiple picture books about his rescue dogs Sparky and Dexter. \nRick will read aloud from his books\, and talk about adopting rescue dogs. He will also autograph books that can be purchased that day. A portion of book sale proceeds goes to Adopt-A-Dog\, the agency that rescued Sparky and Dexter from dog pounds in New York City and West Virginia. \nPlease register below.
