It’s not just about dollars and cents; it’s about confidence\, curiosity\, and being ready for the real world. \nThis program will be led by Jacob Green\, a rising senior and youth educator who’s passionate about helping kids learn real-world skills – especially when it comes to money! He has worked with students as both a chess instructor and SAT tutor\, and now he’s bringing that same energy to financial literacy. Jacob’s goal is to make money lessons fun\, hands-on\, and easy to understand. DESCRIPTION:Grades K – 5 \nOur friends at Rock n’ Rescue are coming back with their feline friends to let children in grades K – 5 practice their reading aloud skills by reading to the kittens – and cuddling them too! \nThis program helps children develop their reading skills and their sense of compassion. They will learn about animal-savvy behavior and volunteerism. It also provides enrichment for the cats and helps them learn to trust children and adults through calm\, positive interactions. \nThere are three 15-minute time slots available –  1:00 pm\, 1:15 pm\, and 1:30 pm (siblings share a time slot\, so if you are bringing siblings\, please only register one person.) There will be two kitten playpens\, so two families can register per time slot. DESCRIPTION:For Grades K – 3 \nStep into the world of money smarts with our fun and interactive Financial Literacy Program for kids at the Library! In just three sessions\, students will learn the basics of how money works\, discover different ways people earn it\, and explore how to make smart spending choices. Through hands-on games and activities\, kids will build real-life skills like critical thinking and decision-making – all in a welcoming space made just for them. It’s not just about dollars and cents; it’s about confidence\, curiosity\, and being ready for the real world. \nThis program will be led by Jacob Green\, a rising senior and youth educator who’s passionate about helping kids learn real-world skills – especially when it comes to money! He has worked with students as both a chess instructor and SAT tutor\, and now he’s bringing that same energy to financial literacy. Jacob’s goal is to make money lessons fun\, hands-on\, and easy to understand. DESCRIPTION:For all ages. \nOur friends from the Lewisboro Garden Club are holding a workshop for children on how to make Nature Shadow Boxes. The boxes are inspired by the work of artist Joseph Cornell\, famous for his boxed assemblages created from found objects. \nEach child will work with found objects\, paint\, glue and nature materials to create an environment in their individual box. They will learn about Cornell as they assemble their works of art. \nParticipants should bring a small box or shoe box to be used as the base for their shadow box. \nSpace is limited\, please register your child below. \n\nNote: photographs are often taken at our events to post on social media and our website.
