DESCRIPTION:Local author Ian S. Maloney will discuss his book South Brooklyn Exterminating\, which was published in May of this year. It documents the complications of growing up and navigating through a working class family and that family’s business – the exterminating business. Maloney’s Brooklyn comes to life in startling ways\, funny and sad in equal measure\, an ode to old Brooklyn\, all the way down to how to properly pronounce the Kosciuszko Bridge. \nIan S. Maloney grew up in Marine Park\, Brooklyn\, where he worked as a NYS Pest Control Technician. He is Director of the Jack Hazard Fellowship for the New Literary Project\, Contributor at Vol. 1 Brooklyn\, and former Professor of Literature\, Writing\, and Publishing at St. Francis College in Brooklyn\, NY. Ian serves on the Literary Council for the Brooklyn Book Festival and on the Board for the Walt Whitman Initiative.\n\nPlease register below.\n\n
