SUMMARY:Alzheimer's Caregivers: Understanding & Responding to Dementia-Related Behavior
DESCRIPTION:The Library is hosting two in-person workshops this summer for individuals caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s disease\, as a way for caregivers to learn and share experiences. This second one deals with responding to dementia-related behavior. \nDuring the middle stage of dementia\, the person with the disease often starts to exhibit new behaviors that can be confusing for a caregiver. These behaviors are actually a form of communication\, and are essential to understanding the needs of the person with dementia. This program helps identify common triggers for common behaviors associated with dementia and learn strategies for addressing these behaviors. \nPresented by the The Alzheimer’s Association Hudson Valley Chapter.
