SUMMARY:Alzheimer's Caregivers: Effective Communication Strategies
DESCRIPTION:The Library is hosting two in-person workshops this summer for individuals caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s disease\, as a way for caregivers to learn and share experiences. This first one is on effective communicating. \nIndividuals living with dementia often experience changes in behavior that can be confusing to their caregivers. For caregivers\, learning to decode messages through attitude\, tone of voice\, facial expressions and body language can help both parties connect in meaningful ways. This program helps explain the communication changes that take place in a person with dementia and identify strategies to connect and communicate at each stage of the disease. \nPresented by the The Alzheimer’s Association Hudson Valley Chapter.
