SUMMARY:Author Panel: So You've Finished Your Book ... Now What?
DESCRIPTION:Working on a book\, but not sure of the next steps? Local published authors Ed Perratore\, Samantha Talbot and Richard Finn share their insights and advice on navigating and managing the byzantine\, confusing\, frustrating and intimidating publishing industry to successfully get your book out to the public. \nThey will discuss: \n* The difficulties of attracting risk-averse traditional publishers \n* How to go about “indie” publishing\, with pros and cons \n* How to market your finished product … and more. \nAbout the Panel: \nEd Perratore’s books include two horror novels: The Coven Tree and Hindred Spirits. He is well into a third horror novel\, based in upper Westchester. His other published book is the nonfiction work One Man’s Journey: A Walk on the Croton Aqueduct Trail. Ed’s career has been in magazine writing and editing at Consumer Reports\, PC Magazine and other renowned publications. \nSamantha (Sam) Talbot is a self-proclaimed weirdo and lover of the morbid\, mysterious\, and macabre. Her dark historical fantasy\, A Thunderbolt Into Nettle\, is based on the gruesome legacy of Hungarian countess Elizabeth Bathory\, who is thought to have murdered hundreds of young women in the early 17th century. \nRichard Finn has spent his professional life in the sports industry. He has a long and accomplished career as a sports journalist for many leading newspapers and news organizations\, including USA Today\, New York Times\, Chicago Tribune and Associated Press. Hildy’s Promise is his first full-length novel. A crime thriller set in Westchester County\, it centers around a golf champion with a kidnapped wife\, who is ordered to meet her kidnappers for 18 holes of golf to secure her freedom – but there is an unnerving set of rules for the game…. \nPlease register below.
