SUMMARY:Lewisboro Seniors Book Group: "The Personal Librarian"
DESCRIPTION:Our group meets in person on (usually) the third Wednesday of the month during the Lewisboro Senior Adults meeting at the South Salem Firehouse. All seniors are welcome! \nThis month the group will be discussing The Personal Librarian\, by Marie Benedict. The book tells a fictionalized\, intimate portrait of the real-life Belle da Costa Greene\, the personal librarian to J. P. Morgan\, as well as the first director of the Morgan Library & Museum. \nThe Library will provide copies of the book to all participants. Large print copies are also available upon request. SUMMARY:Girls Who Code
DESCRIPTION:For Students in Grades 3 through 12. \nGirls Who Code is a non-profit organization dedicated to closing the gender gap in technology. The club is a FREE after-school computer science program\, facilitated by Children’s Librarian Marie Nania and helpers from the JJHS Robotics Team. The club meets weekly. \nStudents are encouraged to bring their own laptops or Chromebooks; some will be provided. \nSpace is limited\, please register below. \nNote: photographs are often taken at our events to post on social media and our website. Please let the event leader know if you would prefer your child not be photographed.

SUMMARY:College Planning in the Mid 2020's - What you need to know now
DESCRIPTION:For Teens in Grades 9 – 11 & their Parents.\n\nThe college process has been undergoing massive changes since the pandemic. Colleges are test-optional\, test-blind\, test-mandatory. Students are being asked to defer a semester or study at another campus. Increased applications have led to more unpredictability and volatility\, especially as students refuse to think outside the box.\n\n     In this presentation\, Alan Sheptin\, CEP\, will discuss what to expect in the next few years\, and provide some ways to think cleverly about applying to college. Before our presentation\, you may want to read his comments in a recent article from Westchester magazine.\n\n     Please register your family members below.
