SUMMARY:Community Crafters: Gingerman Candy Cuties
DESCRIPTION:We have another great project for those who love to craft – and give back to others in our community! \nWe will be making Gingerman Candy Cuties during this workshop – little felt gingermen with candy canes as arms and legs. They will be part of a gift bag delivered to homebound older adults in Lewisboro\, along with sweet treats and a pack of Lewisboro Notecards. \nThank you to Peter Rose for supplying the special treats for our gift bag\, and to Priscilla Luckow for donating the notecards and supplies. \nPlease register below.

DESCRIPTION:For all ages. \nLaurel Aronian sings and teaches seasonal songs for children. Laurel is an accomplished singer-songwriter who has studied with Juilliard\, Berklee\, and Interlochen Center for The Arts. She has taught in libraries and community service centers throughout NY and CT. Laurel plays local open mics and has performed at The Ridgefield Playhouse. SUMMARY:(Virtual) Westchester's Holiday Image-Makers
DESCRIPTION:Via Zoom. \nChristmas was declared a federal holiday in 1870. The American holiday season as we now know it evolved during the 19th and early 20th century\, mainly due to works of authors\, artists\, and songwriters\, most of whom had ties to Westchester County. Barbara Davis\, Co-Director of the Westchester County Historical Society\, traces the evolution of the traditions while introducing the Westchester holiday “image makers” and their impact on the holiday observances.
