SUMMARY:(Virtual) Origami Classes for Teens
DESCRIPTION:Teen Vihan J. will lead a series of daytime and evening origami classes as a community service to engage teens in a fun and interactive activity. These classes will run for an hour\, during which participants will make 1 or 2 models.  Participants in the classes can use their own paper\, or arrange to pick up double-sided origami paper from the Library. Classes are small\, registration is required. PLEASE REGISTER FOR EACH CLASS.\n \nRegistrants will receive the Zoom invite with link the day before. \nA note from Vihan: “In order to help our neighbors dealing with food insecurity and working on the front lines during this very challenging time\, I have set up a GoFundMe Page for anyone who would like to donate – 100% of proceeds will benefit the Daily Bread Food Pantry (a 501(c)3 non-profit that serves 700-800 families monthly in Danbury and surrounding areas) and to provide origami supplies to children of essential workers.” If you have any questions\, please email vj.eclasses@gmail.com.

DESCRIPTION:For Parents and Teens. \nWe are offering this update to our Zoom presentation for families on how the college admissions landscape is changing due to COVID-19 and what impact it will have on rising Seniors\, Juniors and Sophomores. \nThe college admissions process is undergoing significant and lasting changes as many colleges and universities have gone test optional. \nThis means that admissions officers will give more weight to college essays\, extracurricular activities\, teacher recommendations and community service projects when they review applications as part of the holistic review process. \nThis program covers how admissions officers are handling the current situation and how students can position themselves to develop a compelling narrative to stand out and increase their chances for admission. \n\n\nThe presentation will be led by Ron Feuchs and Jackie Tepper of Stand Out For College\, LLC. \nPlease RSVP to ron@standoutforcollege.com.
