FREE BOOK DOWNLOADS!

Did you know the Library has free eBooks and Audiobooks available for download onto your computer and digital device?

In 2012 we will continue our "Library Technology & You" workshops, to teach patrons how to use the library catalog to download free audiobooks and eBooks onto a compatible digital device - iPads, Kindles, Nooks and more!

Click on the Digital Media Catalog tab above for a complete list of audio and eBook devices that are compatible with our free digital media catalog - as well as instructions for getting started.

Download Free Music

The Lewisboro Library now offers access to free music downloads from the Sony Music catalog. Under the terms of an agreement with Freegal Music Service, library card holders can download a select number of Sony Music tracks in the MP3 format. Since this is our first effort at providing this service, and our funds are limited, we are currently restricting the number of downloads to three per week for each library card holder. The library is also restricted to a cumulative number of downloads per month. In the event that the library exceeds its download budget for the month, users will be able to add their music selection to a “wishlist” to be downloaded when available.

To access Freegal, simply click the link above and enter your library card number and PIN. This service is only available to Lewisboro Library card holders. If you have fines of $25 or more, your card will not be able to access this service.

PIN Required to Access Library Account

Library patrons are now required to log-in to the online library catalog using their library card number and a personalized identification number (PIN) before viewing information about their account or to place a hold. By default, your new PIN is the last 4 digits of the phone number registered on your library card account. After logging-in for the first time, library patrons should change their PIN to something that is easy to remember, but that only they will know. This change has been made to provide greater security for the library card holder. For more information call 763-3857. Note: If you use Library Elf to track your items, you must update that account to include your PIN.

Try the BookMyne App

Want to check the status of your library account while away from home? The Westchester Library System has a FREE app available for iPad, iPod and iPhone users to access the online catalog. Use BookMyne to easily search for books, place holds or renew from your portable device. Download the app at the iTunes store. For more information, visit this link.

Library Email Newsletter

The Library has a monthly email newsletter to keep patrons informed of upcoming programs. To sign up for the service, send an email to lewisborolibrary@gmail.com.

Wireless Internet Access

Wireless Internet access is now available at the Lewisboro Library.  We invite you to explore our high-speed Internet access using your own wireless-enabled laptop or pda. In order to connect, your computer must have a WiFi-compatible network card installed (802.11b or 802.11g).  We also recommend a charged battery, as electrical outlets are limited. Wireless users agree to abide by the library policy on wireless use of the Internet. A copy of this policy can be found at the Circulation Desk. For detailed information, please refer to the Wireless Configuration Information sheet available at the Circulation Desk.
