Free Book, Music & Video Downloads & Streaming

The Library has free eBooks, audiobooks, music and videos available for streaming or download onto your computer and digital devices. Click on the Digital Media Catalog tab above for access to the Westchester Library System's list of digital providers, such as Overdrive, Kanopy and Hoopla. Click on the Freegal Music Service tab above for access to the Sony Music catalog. You must enter your library card number and PIN.  If you have fines of $25 or more, your card will not be able to access these services.

Free Online Learning Databases

The Westchester Library System has many helpful databases that patrons may access free of charge from home using their library card. There are databases to help with DMV practice tests (Driving-Tests.org), get career advice (Lynda.com) and more. The most recent acquisition is Tutor.com, a fully online tutoring service. You can get a tutor in more than 40 subjects including Math, Science, Social Studies, AP support, Foreign Languages and Business. Tutoring sessions take place in an easy-to-use online classroom which runs in your browser. To try out Tutor.com and other learning databases, click on the Online Resources link above.

Wireless Internet Access

Wireless Internet access is available at the library to use with your own wireless-enabled laptop or pda. In order to connect, your computer must have a WiFi-compatible network card installed (802.11b or 802.11g).  We also recommend a charged battery, as electrical outlets are limited. Wireless users agree to abide by the library policy on wireless use of the Internet. A copy of this policy can be found at the Circulation Desk.
